"I think that there were very many terrorists also among the Saudi football players, and our sons fought with death-defying bravery against these terrorists, so a draw away from home is a fantastic result". The sentence was uttered by the Socialist Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany after a football game. PM is referring to Arab/Saudi football players as terrorists, at the same time highlighting the courage of the Hungarian players for confronting them.
Why racist
The statement conveys a message of scapegoating and stereotyping by making the Arab football players responsible for terrorism.
