The Court of Appeals in Helsinki has been investigating discriminatory behaviours that relate to derogatory ways in which the judges of the court have addressed various minorities in unofficial meetings and conversations. In 2013, the attorney general called for internal investigations upon the incidents, however the report has not been publicised. The racist terminology applied among the senior staff includes naming such as "ryssä" and "neekeri", which both connote deeply racist meanings. Racist jokes and sexist behaviours towards assistants and junior staff has also been reported. The incidents are particularly serious due to the fact the court of appeals is expected to condemn racist slurs and incidents of other similar occurrence.

The terminology applied includes a slur, since "ryssä" conveys a derogatory message relating to the Russian people. For example, the term "neekeri" ("nigger") has obvious racist connotations. Racist jokes and sexist behaviour towards assistants and junior staff have also been reported.

Terminologija vključuje blatenje, saj "ryssä" izraža poniževalno oznako za pripadnike ruskega naroda. Tudi izraz “črnuh” ima očiten rasističen pomen.
